No Buy Style Challenge: May Edition

If you have been following along in the series you know that this is the second installment in my blogger collaboration series called the “No Buy Style Challenge!” This month my friend Liz from Palmettos and Pineapples served up her inspiration for us to put our own spin on! A gorgeous spring printed dress!

In case you’re just joining us, this style challenge consists of the four of us rotating inspiration by challenging each other to create looks from things we already have! This is a great way for me to think outside the box and try to wear some styles I already have, and I hope you will join in and tag us in your photos!

So, without further ado, lets jump in and see my no buy style challenge look and Liz’s look that inspired it!

My Spring Dress Look

I decided to take inspiration from her adorable printed spring dress (which I will share below) and wear one that I actually had and hand’t worn yet! It was from Starfall (but I don’t think its available anymore!) I find that dresses like this are often items I buy for a specific occasion and then I let them sit! Anybody else?

So, I was really grateful to be inspired to take this look and make it more casual for everyday!

The Spring Dress that Inspired Me

As promised, here is Liz’s adorable look that inspired all of our recreations! Tap the photo to read more about her look and what inspired her!

The colors are fantastic and I love the detailing and the shape it gives the dress! So cute!

As I mentioned, there are four of us in total, so I cannot wait to see how Brita and Charlene used this dress as inspiration for their own looks!

The colors in this dress aren’t necessarily ‘spring exclusive’ or as bright as our inspirer’s photo, but I think the floral makes it perfect for spring! I paired it with sandals from Five Below (yes, seriously!) and a bag also from Starfall from a few months ago.

I think the flat sandals make it casual enough for just about anything, what do you think?

How to Join the No Buy Style Challenge!

I would love to see how Liz’s look (or my take on it!) inspired you to dig around in your own closet and recreate a look for spring! You can play along however you’d like! Here are some no buy style challenge ideas:

  • Take the whole look from Liz’s look or mine and recreate a version with items you have
  • Take one element of our looks (ex: color, pattern, cut, etc) and use that to inspire a look from things you have!
  • Check out the other looks from Brita and Charlene to get inspired!

Tag me in your instagram photos so I can see your looks and use #nobuystylechallenge!

That dress is so cute! I love dresses that dress up or down. Accessories really make all the difference! I am also a fan of Five Below. I found my favorite headband there, a pastel iridescent stretchy headband.

agree! 5 below can be a secret spot for cute stuff! I never thought of it for fashion but I stumbled upon them and was like woah!
