My Top 3 Resources for the Best Free Images for Social Media and Business
IF YOU ARE RUNNING ANY KIND OF BUSINESS OR ONLINE PRESENCE, YOU KNOW THAT SOURCING AND CREATING QUALITY CONTENT CAN BE ONE OF THE MOST TIME CONSUMING JOBS. BUT WHERE TO FIND THE BEST FREE IMAGES?
Luckily, when you need to beef up your visuals and you don’t have the time (or resources) to create your own content, I have a few amazing places that always have great FREE images that you can use!
Why can’t I just get images from Google?
It’s important to remember that images are intellectual property and unless you are given permission to use them, using them can land you in serious trouble. Especially when its for business use.
These sites grant permission for you to use the images at no cost to you, but always feel free to credit the work of the photographer as a thank you, even though it’s not required.
I find Pexels to be kind of ‘middle of the pack’ among the ‘best’ of the free image providers I am familiar with. It can be hard to find ‘specific’ images if you are searching for them ( they will insert ads for those images that are available from stock image sites). But all in all, they have a good selection and it’s easy to navigate. Bonus: there is also a pexels video site for video clips at no cost.
I have to say Unsplash is by far my favorite site right now for sourcing images at no-cost. The quality just seems to be the best. The image composition across the board is super high-quality. Therefore, the chance of you finding slink, on-trend, pinterest-worth styled stock images is really high.
Pixabay is probably the most generic of these three resources in my opinion, but its still amazing! When you need good stock images or anything sort of ‘background’ looking, they usually have a lot of great resources!
What resources do you use to find images? Paid or free? Have you tried any of these sites? Let us know in the comments!
